Benefits of Health Retreats

Good health is one of the most important things in life. People who don’t have it spend thousands of dollars to obtain cures or drugs that are supposed to help. These methods are likely to do much more damage than good.

There are a few simple rules of health that can do wonders for people:

Nutrition
Eat as much nutritious food as possible, such as fruits & vegetables. Try to avoid artificial sweets, processed foods and the like. Processed or tinned food often have high quantities of salt, sugar and additives which are best avoided.

Water
It is advisable to drink 8 glasses of water per day to keep the body in a healthy condition & able to fight disease. Water molecules make up over 50% of the human body for most adults, so this needs to be replenished.

Temperance
Eating too much of a good thing is never, well, a good thing, and your body functions much better if it’s not overloaded. Temperance also means eating less salt, sugars & fat.

Rest
To recuperate and heal itself, everyone needs adequate rest, usually in the form of a good nights sleep. Try to get at least 8 hours of sleep.

Sunshine
Sunlight is the highest source of Vitamin D, which keeps bones strong and healthy. Ultraviolet rays are antiseptic, meaning they kill bacteria, viruses, mites & mold.

Fresh Air
The smog in many cities today is a grave health risk, and fresh air is a welcome relief. It cleans the lungs of dust and relieves breathing. Fresh air also helps with oxygen absorption which leads to great energy.

Exercise
Lastly, exercise is the main ingredient to a healthy & fit body. It lowers blood pressure, strengthen muscles and endurance, increases breathing capacity, and lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease.
